13th Anniversary and Naked 2- Two Things That Go Together! Haha!

Last night was mine and Big Daddy’s 13th Anniversary….what a trip it’s been!

We ate at one of our FAVORITE restaurants, Las Brisas….our sweet Aunt Kippy kept the boys….it was so great…Stuffed Avocados, Petite Filet for me and Ribeye for Big Daddy cooked to PERFECTION (medium rare for us!), truffle mashed potatoes, bacon-wrapped shrimp, and Brandy Butter Apple Dumpling for dessert.

OH MY WORD!

We laughed and relaxed, and it was so much fun to eat with my beloved.

With no children!

Awhile back,  I got this….

I LOVE the first “Naked” Palette so much that I HAD to get the second one.

Since we now have high-speed internet, I have been YouTube tutorials for the Naked 2 Palette.

I did a special smoky eye tutorial for the date with my boyfriend last night. (I told Dos I had a date with my boyfriend and while playing his brother’s iTouch, he nonchalantly asked, “who is it?” LOL!)

Anyway, this is SO MUCH FUN….I get The iPhone or iPad at my makeup mirror with me…get on YouTube and search “Naked 2 tutorials” and the fun begins….

Until Romeo screeches because Dos has him on a leash “walking” him in a 50-yard dash through chairs, boxes, and sharp objects.

Or Baby 3.0 screams because Dos has him in a headlock.

Or Uno hollers because Dos broke the Millenium Falcon that he spent 23 hours building.

Lord, help me with Dos.

He’s totally ruining my YouTube time. ☺

Love to all!

Ask and You Shall Receive

Day 2 in a row of posting!

One victory at a time, I say!

We finally had a little reprieve in the 90 mph winds….I sent kids out to play….and told Uno to “teach” Dos a lesson in hopscotch….with letters….and they BOTH loved it….but here’s what my firstborn is also handing down to his little brother….

FASHION SENSE!

High water swishy pants, spandex shirt, and cowboy boots.

OH LAW.

I just hope our neighbors understand that we might be a little quirky, but we aren’t too cray cray!

Makin’ good on a promise…..a picture of Baby Thunder Thighs….YUMMY!!!

(Y’all, this baby was not gaining weight properly in his first few weeks, and now he weighs 16 pounds!!!!  I’m one of those weird ‘exclusive breastfeeding radicals’ so supplementing with formula was my biggest fear (not a judgement, just a personal conviction!) He may have the biggest thighs of all three?!)

I know y’all are or have been where I have this week….cranky baby…sick kids…sleepless couple of nights in a row….even crankier Sassy Mama.

I have constantly been asking the Lord what I need to learn from this because my attitude has been less than stellar.

And then, thanks to the A.W. Tozer ‘Mornings with Tozer’ iPhone app, I received an answer last night…..His Presence is the key to everything….if we seek His Presence, then everything else we need shall be added unto us.

We Have It All

Seek ye first the kingdom . . . all these things shall be added unto you.Matthew 6:33

How much time have you spent in your Christian life meditating on the plain instruction from our Savior?—“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

The God who has revealed Himself to needy men and women wants us to know that when we have Him, we have everything—we have all the rest!

Any of us who have experienced a life and ministry of faith can tell how the Lord has met our needs—even for food and the essentials of life.

Brethren, we ought to learn, and learn it soon, that it is much better to have God first and have God Himself, even if we have only a thin dime, than to have all the riches and all the influence in this world and not have God with it!

Let us go on to know Him and to love Him more dearly, not for His gifts and benefits, but for the pure joy of His presence. Thus we will fulfill the purpose for which He created us and redeemed us!

Dear Lord, help me make the transition from wanting more and more “things” to being satisfied—and overjoyed—with only Your presence in my life.

From the Mornings with Tozer, by A. W. Tozer.

This took on a new meaning to me this week….I have been lacking in sleep….a basic need like clothing or food or drink…and He answered:

31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek FIRST his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not

worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

So seeking His kingdom, His presence, His righteousness…tabernacle with Him….and all these things shall be given to me….sometimes we need the basics…I needed REST….

And I received that last night…..in the form of an evening nap and 6 1/2 hours of sleep.

If you have heard the word He has spoken over you- don’t miss this- EVERY PERSON ON EARTH has been given a purpose or a word from God is they CHOOSE to hear it and seek to know the One who speaks it- then the enemy will do his best to distract you from that purpose (what if we all just sought His Presence and let him add it all unto us?  How much better would life be?)…..and that is definitely what happened to me…..

But I am learning that seeking His presence through talking to Him in my prayers, calling out to Him in difficult situations, worshipping Him throughout the day, and reading His Word….and always looking for Him in ALL situations….He rewards the seeker….

And I see Him, feel Him, and know He is working things out on my behalf.

It is the most peaceful thing to know that the God of the Universe is working things out on my behalf.

And that reminds me of the verse that says that not only is He working things out, He is PERFECTING that which concerns me (Psalm 138:8 KJV).

WOW.

Alrighty… back to teaching my boys what they need to know to outsmart me. ☺

Winning the War on Eczema

HEY!

I’m trying to get back on the radar but that hasn’t proven to be the easiest task these past couple of weeks!

We are gonna be unpacking for a good while!

We have found the basics- ya know like toilet paper, sheets, and Keurig K-Cups- but otherwise, we are still bringing things from the depths of the garage!

But, as I keep saying, we are SO happy in the BIGGEST MESS of our lives! ☺

The weather has gone from snowy to rainy to blinding windstorm with a few lovely days in between!  We want to get out and meet the neighbors (although three different ones have brought us DESSERTS!  SO SWEET!), but we haven’t quite found a day to get out and go a-visitin’!

We’ve also battled all manners of illness since we’ve moved.  I’m thinkin’ our immune systems took a-beatin’ what with all the stress/change/craziness.

You should know that we don’t do anything THE EASY WAY!  OH NO!

Between stomach bug (Memo while she was here) to flu (Dos) to even Baby 3.0 with fever and cough….WHEW!

ONE TIRED MAMA!

But, I’ve managed to do a little unpacking each day.

And we visited a church this past Sunday….it was so awesome….although nothing will EVER replace our sweet church family in Matador, it was a wonderful experience to go to a church that was so welcoming and the pastor’s word so lined up with what God is doing everywhere!!!

And can I confess?!?!

I am SO loving being so close to The Big City- I may have taken up a second residence at the nearby Market Street grocery store….pretty sure they’re about to offer me a mailbox.

We are about 8 minutes and 32 seconds from the nearest Walmarts!!

Also, since getting here to The Big City, I was able to get some of Neosporin’s new eczema products to try….

Neosporin Eczema Essentials Daily Moisturizing Cream

OK, I simply LOVE these products.  I have been using them on Dos and Baby 3.0.

The body wash is SO creamy and emollient….and when my kids get out of the tub, there seems to be a layer of softness that has never been before.

Dos suffers from a patch of eczema on his eyelid and a patch on his torso….we try to limit water time and try to remember to douse with moisturizer….the spot on his eyelid is almost completely gone (thanks also to Aquaphor!) and the tummy spot is improving….

The moisturizing cream is great, too….it is not greasy or heavy….just soft and rich  yet easily absorbed.

Baby 3.0 had a rough patch on his upper thunder thigh- oh are those thighs so yummy…maybe I’ll post a pic soon….and it is GONE after using this on him!

Due to his cough, we’ve had several baths in the last two days….and I have no fear of overdrying because of these products.

I’m not gonna go as far as to say that these products cure eczema- if you have it, you know it’s a tough battle- but I will say it is a very beneficial component….kind of like adding an Oozy to your artillery…

Alrighty, I’m outta here- so much to do…but I sure have missed y’all!!!

Over and out!!!
